Colorado State Fair Military Appreciation Day

Colorado State Fair Military Appreciation Day will take place on Sunday August 29th, 2010.
The event is sponsored by KCCY 96.9.  Active military personnel, with proof of military affiliation will receive FREE gate admission.
Retired, discharged military and Family members of Active military will receive $3 off gate admission.

Be sure to visit the WeatherPORT tent at 5:00 pm for a free military appreciation concert that will provide musical entertainment in honor of our military men and women.

Active military can also take advantage of $5 rodeo tickets through the State Fair Box Office for the PRCA Dodge Rodeo at 7pm.

2010 Parade of Homes
The Parade of Homes will celebrate its fifty-sixth year during its August 6 to 22 spectacular.
The event will feature 23 new homes from the upper $100's to over $1 Million.The 2010 Parade
runs from August 6 through August 22; Monday through Sunday from 11am - 7pm. 
Tickets can be purchased at Safeway stores for $10 for Adults ages 18 -64, $5 for Seniors age 65 and older.

Fiddles, Vittles & Vino - VI

A Southern Colorado Bluegrass and Culinary Arts Festival will take place on July 25, 2010 from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM

Foot-stomping bluegrass music, cooking demonstrations, living history activities, and, of course, the delectable food and wine tastings, have quickly made this event a regional favorite. Sample food from more than two dozen of Colorado Springs’ finest restaurants. Where else can you sip a vintage wine, listen to bluegrass melodies and enjoy a gorgeous view of Pikes Peak? Bring chairs or a blanket for seating at the concert. 2010 Springs Beer Fest

Old Chicago presents the fourth annual Springs Beer Fest in downtown Colorado Springs, CO on Saturday, July 24th from 11am to 6pm. Featuring over 25 regional craft breweries, live entertainment, carnival games, souvenir taster mug, bottomless beer tastings and featured food from local restaurants. Pack a blanket, chairs, sturdy drinking shoes and kick back with local musicians while sipping some hand crafted goodness!

Proceeds from the festival will benefit  Friends of Cheyenne Cañon, a conservation and education group dedicated to preserving Cheyenne Cañon.

The event will take place at Antlers Park, 31 West Pikes Peak Avenue on west Pikes Peak ave and Sierra Madre street in Downtown Colorado Springs

Tickets are $25, $5 discount with Military ID and may be purchased at Colorado Springs Old Chicago restaurants or at the door.

The city of Colorado Springs annual 4th of July Fireworks has been canceled for the second year in a row.  No fear, Cheyenne Mountain State Park, Fort Carson and Sky Sox Stadium will be hosting events starting July 3rd, 2010.  Monument, Cripple Creek, Manitou Springs and the Air Force Academy will celebrate the Fourth this year with food and entertainment for the whole family. The Broadmoor and the Cheyenne Mountain Resort also feature fireworks, food and entertainment for their guests each year.

Cheyenne Mountain State ParkCheyenne Mountain State Park will be celebrating Independence Day on Saturday July 3, 2010 from 10:00 am to 9:00 pm.
Games, activities, and entertainment are planned for the whole day, including evening fireworks viewing at the amphitheatre.

Springs Spree Celebration

Springs Spree is an annual outdoor event and one of Colorado Springs longest running celebrations with over 70,000 in attendance. Spring Spree is a two day celebration occurring each year in the month of June. The event was moved from its downtown location to Memorial Park in 2008. Celebrate this years 33rd Annual Event with live music, Human Hamster Ball Rides, car show, afts and crafts.  There is something for the whole family. Memorial Day Gypsy Jazz Festival

Mango fan DjangoManitou Springs will by hosting its first Gypsy Jazz festival at Soda Springs Park on Monday May 31st from noon to 5 p.m.
The event is free and open to the public and will be featuring Mango fan Django, Hot Club from Boulder and local goup Anonymity Guru.
Bring a blanket or a lawn chair and some sun screen it will be in the 70's on Monday.

Manitou Springs is a great place to enjoy the day with shopping, dining and  one of the West's oldest Penny aracades.

Manitou Springs will be holding their 1st Annual Manitou Luau, "The ManitouAU" on Saturday May 15th from 11:00 am to 6:00 pm.
There will roasted pig, Hula Dancers, Ukelele performances and Warrior contest.
