What a great time to celebrate our nation.  Parades, fireworks and backyard grilling.

In 2011, America is celebrating 235 years of independence on the Fourth of July.  Colorado Springs will be celebrating America’s Independence Day and the Fourth of July with a number of fireworks displays and celebrations. Although most will be on July 4, some start as early as July 3.

People planning to attend these events should bring their own chairs unless they are assured of some other seating and to arrive as early as possible. The major Fourth of July celebrations and fireworks displays are listed below.

Where can I see fireworks in Colorado Springs?

 

Fort Carson: 2011 Fourth on the 3rd!
Celebrate the Fourth on July 3rd at Fort Carson's Iron Horse Park.
There will be live entertainment, jump castles, crafts and games for kids and adults, food and fireworks!  Festivities start at 4:00 pm with fireworks at 10:00 pm. This event is open to the public, with free admission.  For more information call 526-4494.

Sky Sox Stadium: Independence Day Celebration & Baseball Saturday, July 4, 2011 at 7:05 pm
Sky Sox Baseball game followed by a Fireworks Show. Come and enjoy the fun! The game starts with the Sky Sox vs Tacoma Rainers at 7:05 with a grand fireworks display following the game.  Fireworks will follow after the game.. 

 

July 4th Start Your Day with Pancakes- Security

 The Security Fire Department is hosting its annual fourth of July Pancake Breakfast. Come and enjoy a yummy pancakes and visit with your neighbors this 4th of July weekend.

Colorado Springs: 2009 Fabulous Fourth of July - Memorial Park (No 2011 plans as of yet)
The City of Colorado Springs has cancelled its annual 4th of July celebration this year due to budget cuts.  Costs for the event run anywhere from $80,000 to $100,000. 

Fort Carson has invited the public to its annual Fourth on the 3rd celebration.  The Colorado Springs Philharmonic Orchestra will present their annual
Patriotic Celebration Concert during the Fort Carson Celebration along with a Fireworks Display, food and entertainment! See Fort Carson event for more information.

 

 

US Air Force Academy Hosts 4th of July 2011 Celebration:
Image for Academy Host July 4th Fireworks: The Air Force Academy plans an evening of family-oriented games, music and fireworks to celebrate the nation's birthday. The celebration is open to the general public.

Events start at 4 p.m. on the Academy athletic fields with food, games, vendors and displays, 
6:30 to 7:45 pm Colorado Springs philharmonic,

8:15 - 9:30 pm Us Air Force Academy Band, the fireworks show will start at approximately 9:30 p.m.&Music will be broadcast by the Academy's cadet radio station, KAFA 97.7FM, before and during the event. 

Visitors can bring cameras, lawn chairs, blankets, umbrellas, and sealed plastic water bottles. But, visitors cannot bring coolers, barbecue grills, pets other than working service dogs, or fireworks. Water and portable restrooms will be provided.

Visitors attending the event should enter the Academy through the North Gate, Exit 156-B off of I-25, on July 4. Parking will be available at and near the Cadet Field House, but carpooling is recommended.

Cripple Creek: July 4th Celebration 2011

Tri-Lakes: Fourth of July Parade & Fireworks 2011 
Monument celebrates the fourth with a Parade made up of over 100 entries and an estimated 20,000 spectators. Other events include a pancake breakfast, parade, tractor pull, food and entertainment, fun run, street fair, and 'The Best Small Town Fireworks Show in America.

Pancack Breakfast starts at 7 am at St Peter's Chuch, 'What a Blast!' at Palmer Lake, 3 p. m. to dusk. Live music, old-fashioned games, inflatable park and carnival rides at a nominal fee, at the lakeside near the baseball field opposite the Rock House on Highway 105. Woodland Park: Old Fashioned 4th of July Celebration 2011 
Join the community, local non-profit organizations and businesses for this free day of family activities. There will be a pancake breakfast, fishing contest, fire truck rides, games, prizes, entertainment, food, arts and crafts, and more! Come join the fun on Saturday, July 4th in Memorial Park in downtown Woodland Park (Park St & Henrietta Ave. 80863 from 9:00AM to 3:00PM. Fireworks are staged at the High School starting at dusk.

The Broadmoor Hotel is offering 4th of July Packages for the whole famly starting at $800.00 for four nights.  Package includes horseback riding, paddle boat rides, free movies, carnival, entertainment and of course fireworks.   

 

Manitou Springs FIREWORKS on July 4th, 2011 
This annual Fourth of July Holiday tradition is put on by the Manitou Springs Volunteer Fire Department. PLEASE NOTE THE VENUE HAS CHANGED! The fireworks will now be launched from Higginbotham Flats off of Hwy 24. The entire show will be Aeriel Shells ONLY! The Aeriel Shells designs, colors and displays are hand picked and put on by certified Pyrotechnicians. Each year the fireworks display is put on solely by donations. Show starts at dusk (about 9:30 pm) and can be viewed from anywhere in the downtown area. Pueblo Colorado - Rollin' on the Riverwalk Saturday July 4th, 2011
Rollin' on the Riverwalk is an annual patriotic concert event that joins Pueblo's Riverwalk and the Pueblo Symphony Orchestra with a national entertainer.  This Fourth of July Event has become a staple for Southern Coloradoans and Pueblo's way of celebrating...and Pueblo knows how to celebrate! Bring the whole family for the concert and stay for the biggest fireworks display in Pueblo!

fireworks and more to the Douglas County Fairgrounds.
Admission for the weekend is $10; daily admission is $5. The cost of rides is not included with admission.
Fireworks on the Fourth
On the Fourth, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., The Meadows neighborhood hold a celebration at Bison Park.
Festivities there will include a bike parade, music, games, crafts and more. After dark on July 4, between 9 and 9:30 p.m., the Town will let off fireworks from Metzler Ranch Community Park.
The best view will be from within the park, 4175 Trail Boss Road, though other areas with views of the park also will have views of the fireworks. The display will last about a half-hour.
Please remember that fireworks that leave the ground or explode are illegal in Colorado. Setting off legal fireworks only is permitted in Castle Rock from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. on July 4.
