Schriever Air Force Base, Colorado

Schreiver Air Force Base  is known for it's satellite command and control facilities and is home to the 50th Space Wing.  Schreiver AFB is located approximately 10 miles east of Peterson AFB just off Hwy 94.  In June 1998, Falcon Air Force Base, Colorado was renamed Schreiver Air Force Base in honor of General Bernard Adolph Schriever.  General Schreiver pioneered the development of the nation's ballistic missle programs. At that time, it was the first base named after a living individual.

Military families relocating to Schriever AFB usually live in the Falcon Real Estate area, Blackforest, Colorado Springs Powers Corridor and Fountain Valley which includes the cities of Fountain, Security and Widefield.
